Love Lab research group explores the virtue of compassionate love in the formation, maintenance, and transformation/dissolution of relationships with other people, self, creation, and God. We gather data from human participants in order to learn about the factors that contribute to the development of compassionate love (as both a state and a trait), the psychological barriers to extending compassionate love, and the impact of receiving/offering compassionate love on personal and relational well-being.

We meet regularly throughout the academic semesters, engaging in research projects from their start (i.e., reading literature, building methods) through their implementation (i.e., gathering and analyzing data) and dissemination (i.e., presenting results to professional audiences).
